Our Approach
The LENSES Framework for Intercultural Coaching
The LENSES Framework helps coaches move from cultural knowledge and awareness toward intercultural coaching competence in practice.
Through six lenses, Locate, Explore, Notice, Shift, Examine, and Steward, coaches learn to notice assumptions, explore multiple perspectives, check meaning, adapt communication, attend to power and inclusion, and reflect ethically on impact.
Cultural Models and Tools for Coaches
Explore cultural intelligence (CQ), intercultural competence, cultural models, language, and practical tools for working across difference.
Rather than using cultural knowledge to predict individual behavior, these resources encourage coaches to use what they know to develop better questions, test assumptions, and remain curious about the person and context in front of them.

ICF Core Competencies
The ICF Core Competencies provide the professional foundation for coaching practice. They address ethical practice, coaching mindset, relationships, communication, and supporting client learning and growth.
Within the Academy’s programs, intercultural competence is developed alongside professional coaching competence, rather than treated as a separate layer added to coaching.

ICF Team Coaching Competencies
The ICF Team Coaching Competencies extend the application of the Core Competencies to the complexity of coaching teams, including team dynamics, relationships, stakeholders, participation, conflict, and the team as a collective client.
They are particularly relevant to coaches developing their practice in intercultural and systemic team coaching.
